Scribbly little pictures

“I like your scribbly little pictures”. Some classic feedback on my new brand…It made me think that these scribbly little pictures hold meaning for me and my business, but that might not be obvious to other people.

Branding is really hard. Particularly when it's your own business. That uses your name.

When I was creating the brand visual identity for my new company I felt immense pressure to "get it right". Fortunately I found Emmelie, a fabulous graphic designer who expertly took me on a journey to create something that I feel is a perfect reflection of me and my vision for my business.

“I like your scribbly little pictures”.

Some classic feedback on my new brand. It made me think that these scribbly little pictures hold meaning for me and my business, but that might not be obvious to other people.

So I thought I’d share a bit more information about why we settled on these particular scribbly little pictures, in the hope that it will tell you more about what it might be like to work with me.

💦 A bendy river: I love jumping in cold rivers. It’s terrifying and exhilarating. This is to remind me that the best things happen when you just GO FOR IT!

🌿 Trees & leaves: This is to tether me firmly to my ADVENTUROUS spirit. This serves as a reminder to get out from behind my desk, and to find inspiration in the great outdoors, and to bring others with me!

🏔 Mountains: No one achieves anything awesome without being brave enough to set BIG GOALS and get after them! This is a reminder to keep dreaming big, and to inspire people I work with to do the same.

👣 Wee bird footprints: When things get overwhelming, this is a reminder to focus on putting one foot in front of the other. To be KIND to myself and other people because we’re all doing our best.

🦅 Birds and cloud: These represent FREEDOM. I'm lucky enough to be free to design the way I work and live, and this reminds me to own that and encourage others to do the same.

☀ A sunshine: This is the key part of my logo, because this is the thing I believe to be most important. To HAVE FUN and be an enthusiast.

As Roald Dahl says; “I began to realise how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. If you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it full speed. Lukewarm is no good.”

I love my scribbly little pictures.

They were carefully designed to tie into my core values by Emmelie. She is fun to work with and fab at the work she does!I want to have fun doing work that inspires me – and hopefully do work that inspires others in the process.
